Also attached are my router stats which dont really explain my problem either. No changes have been made to my internet connection or anything connected to my phone sockets since this problem. What should I do?
Cheers
Matt

I've no idea if there is a connection. I've tried powering everything down for an hour, but this does not seem to have resolved the problem. I'll wait until tomorrow before investigating further. It's getting close to my bedtime.

When you plug into your test socket you won't see any difference on a speed test if your profile has dropped. What you may see though is the sync rate increase and if this is the case then once the sync rate increases, the profile will follow.

It looks like the drops between 18.00-20.00 last night did the damage. Whatever you did after that seems to have corrected it as from 10pm the line has been stable again (the drop at 2am was the ip profile changing) If the line stays as it is then it won't be too long before the profile lifts again.

Many thanks for this information, especially the explanation of the 2am drop, which had puzzled me.

Quote from: Vega and rebooted/reconnected a few times
That in itself could be a reason for poor speeds. The BT systems will see it as an unstable line prone to disconnections and will slow it down in an attempt to make it more stable.
A constant 24x7 connection is ideal for optimal speeds - but it takes the BT systems time to recognise it is stable and increase the speed.

I'll check out my router stats when I connect to the test socket again (I dont keep it connected there because it creates an awful mess of wires across the hallway lol). Im keeping fingers crossed for the alternative router test tonight, in some ways I hope it is my router, at least then I can fix it and buy a new one.
