Automatic allowance on PAYG

Hi,
I have just seen an email saying that i have exceeded my allowance on my PAYG and it topped me up with 2GB for £1.80. Is there any way that this automatic allowance can be stopped especially in cases like this when my allowance is to be reset tomorrow. An extra 2GB for the last day when I have used 2GB during the last month doesn't sound necessary.
And any chance of a refund of the £1.80 as i wasn't planning on using the internet today at all!  Huh
Thanks

Re: Automatic allowance on PAYG

I don't believe it's possible to opt for a fixed cost on the pay as you go option, though if you're on the broadband your way you can definitely do this. Perhaps it might be worth a change? Details of the BBYW packages are here.
If you don't want to change you can set your data transfer watch option in your members centre to £14.99 (or however much you want) and this should stop the scenario from happening again.

Re: Automatic allowance on PAYG

You want to configure the Data Transfer Watch value in the Connection Settings area of the portal.
See https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=myconnection&?membermenu=connectionsettings
Or directly go to https://portal.plus.net/data_transfer_watch/

SW.

Re: Automatic allowance on PAYG

Thanks for the quick reply and action.  Smiley
I don';t think i will be changing to BBYW due to the speed restrictions whereas, from what i understand PAYG is unrestricted.
Will set the transfer watch. I assume that if I were to run out of allowance during the middle of the month, I could still buy some more GB but manually?

Re: Automatic allowance on PAYG

All you'd need to do if this was the case is visit the portal, increase the data transfer watch allowance and then disconnect/reconnect, I hope this should do the trick? I don't think PAYG has the option to add more bandwidth manually.
Hope that helps,
