Routerstats shows no loss of connection and the connection speed hasn't changed which it would have done with a resync at that time in the morning

Tried an alternate router?

Re: Any idea why this happened - multiple loss of PPPoA connection

No
The only other one I have is a Speedtouch 585v6 and I can fiddle with the noise margin on that as well but why would it be a router problem.
I have checked the router log back as far as the 13th June and this is the first time it has happened.
This is why I wondered if it was something at your end

Re: Any idea why this happened - multiple loss of PPPoA connection

Looking a bit closer, it looks like BT scheduled maintenance which often starts at 2am. You'll notice there are only two successful authentication attempts in there, the rest are failures between 02:01:49 and 02:08:21.
