Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

Can plusnet please confirm me if plusnet does support Annex M for ADSL2+ (2.5Meg upload) and if it does support, I can order new Netgear Wireless Router with Annex M support. My current router does not support Annex M

Re: Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

I believe it's an extra cost option, however I believe it won't be activated if your attenuation is over 46dB as you won't see any benefit from it.

Re: Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

My downstream attenuation is 33.0db and upstream attenuation is 17.0db, how much it cost for an extra option ?

Plusnet announced in April that Annex M would be offered on Business products where available in the exchange.

Re: Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

Thanks for answer me back. I can't be bothered go to business cos of too expensive and it isn't worth it to pay extra for another 1 Meg upload on top of my current 1 Meg upload. Also a fixed 12 months contract does put me off.

Re: Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

I guess you will have to wait for FTTC then (see sig)... have you checked the BT line checker to see if it is actually available to you?

Re: Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

No, I am afraid not, I don't think BT will never bring FTTC in my area as my telephone exchange is Cuckoo Oak in Telford & Wrekin in Shropshire. There is no plan at all for the Cuckoo Oak nothing for this year nor next year. Disappointed really but my other side of my area about 2 miles away Dawley exchange will get FTTC even thought their exchange is unbelieved very small than my big exchange. Cannot understand why BT choose Dawley over Cuckoo Oak ?

Dawley: 6,965 residential premises / 270 non-residential premises.: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/WNDAW

Re: Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

FYI following some work we're doing soon to make 10mb upstream available to FTTC customers we'll be looking to create a process for making annex M available to our residential customers.

No Annex M is only for ADSL2

Is it for ADSL2 & ADSL2+ only or just ADSL2 ?, if so, then I cannot understand why not for ADSL2+ ?

Re: Annex M (for ADSL2+) upstream

That's is great news but I think Annex M (2.5Mbps upload) will be an extra charge (option) once it become available but most router might not support Annex M
