Android Box is killing my internet

Help !
I have my m8 android box connected to my plusnet router via Ethernet . Up until last week the box worked fine although the actual broadband would fluctuate on occasion. I have changed nothing at all . Now when I switch on the android box the internet stops to pretty much zero. The issue seems to be actually switching on the box. But weirdly unplugging the hdmi from the box the speed goes back to normal ?? I have tried different cables and it has the same effect .
I'm baffled by this !!

Any help would be much appreciated .

Hi Toddy80,

I think you need to take a look at what the Android box is trying to do when powered on. Is it trying to resume a video stream that was running before it was last powered down maybe?
