Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

Thanks for that bit of info. Unfortunately that won't work on all chips sets and will also be firmware dependant. Can you say which modem/router and chipset that's working for?

Ah,right thanks. I wonder why jjaycee1 was having a problem then? Oh well, we'll wait until he posts.

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

Reading the above I can confirm I have the latest Firmware. Regarding Bits & SNR/Tone you will need to tell me what to tick etc so I have attached a grab of the relevant section from RouterStat.
Please note that Noise has been at 7 for a couple of days now not at 9. I also attach latest Router Status info.
BT Speedtest still DL 0.70 & IP 0.75.
Regarding 10 days, as I thought it will be from the last re-set not from initial installation day.

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

That Noise Margin is looking better. Is the normal Noise Margin graph not working? (as it was before) rather than the telnet version - we'll come back to those settings later - I'm not sure why it's not working without checking through everything. (Turn off the telnet if need be).
If you can post some of today's Noise Margin plots I'll have a look again around 12-1pm ish if all is looking stable, a Disconnect/power down/wait 10 mins/power up resync may be on the cards to get the sync back above 1152.

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

Morning ! Decided the weather was too nice to be bothering around with broadband problems over the weekend so I am back now.
Attached is the latest Noise Margin graph after running RouterStat since 7.a.m today. Also did a BT Speedtest to check my IP & DL details, also attached.
Should I go ahead and do a Disconnect/Power down now?
Please note the Noise Margin attachment should read 28May not 29 May.

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

Can you post the current Noise Margin graph and the current stats?
Difficult to say without those and especially if DLM is playing about!
Edit: The only plus is that your profile hasn't gone lower.

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

I have not had the PC /RouterStat running  all day so I can't send you the stats since powerdown, however I can tell you that they have not changed from 9db and 928. I have been checking regularly. Exactly what do these stats show as I have not seen any real change since submitting them frequently.
To date I have experienced 6.1db thru to 9db and 1120kbps since 16May. Changed to Netgear router on 22May and had 6db and 1344kbps. Since then it has been a mixture of results from a IP profile twice of 1mb and a DL of 0.93 ( both lasting 24hrs only) to 9db and 992 kbps.
I attach the last Noise Margin upto the time I powered down, showing a steady and consistent 7-6db fluctuation, and the latest very brief level over the last 20 minutes.

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

I wanted to see the stats to see whether the attenuation had changed at all.
These spikes are bothering me, especially when they give a 2 dB dip, as well as the other longer dips.

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

OK, actually the 15.5 is the glitch, 31.5 is the more correct figure, never mind, it's a known bug.

Hi jjaycee1,
forgive me if you've stated this before but are you currently in the test socket?

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

Hi jojo. No I am in my main socket. The reason being that the test socket has never improved my connection. I recently tried the test socket as requested by PN but although it apparently cleared a few "errors" it lowered my connection speed and dropped my IP Profile to 215kbps. Only after reverting back to the proper socket did things go back to a slightly better performance. IP profile 0.75 DL 0.69. It then went up to IP 1mb  & DL 0.93 which lasted 24hrs before going back to IP 0.75 DL 0.69. It did go back up to the higher setting again for 24 hrs. Stayed at the IP 0.75 DL 0.69 until yesterday when I did a disconnect/powerdown but unfortunately has gone to IP0.75 DL 0.63.
"Anotherone" has been monitoring my situation. For the recent past I was having Noise Margin of 6-7db and connection speed of from 1184 to 1344kbps. After the powerdown I am stuck on Noise Margin 9db and RX Sync of 928.
I believe I am now at the end of the Testing period and am looking for an improvement back at least to a 1mb IP profile and at least 0.93 DL.
Are you planning any possible action from your (PN) end?

Re: Am I going to be unhappy ?

jojo: can you explain what the Current Line speed means in relation to my current settings please. Also respond to the previous post when you get the time.
Thanks.
