They split home and business customers
you will probably need to phone them.

Re: Affordable ADSL2+ Annex M providers

How much does option 1 business broadband with annex m cost and what kind of upload & download speed can be expected with annex m? I asked the same question when i raised a ticket but it was not answered.

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.5 / 20.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 21.5 / 37.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 26.0 / 6.5
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / IFTN

Re: Affordable ADSL2+ Annex M providers

Hmm you could benefit maybe 1.2-1.3mbps with thoses stats
try raise a ticket to get you're upstream uncapped first and see how you get on from there.

Re: Affordable ADSL2+ Annex M providers

So you're saying my upstream is capped?! Those little Lips_are_sealed ... You know what? You're right it's capped cause im supposed to have annx a and i dont see the benefit. Ok i just raised a ticket because this is intolerable! They wouldnt like it if i capped my credit card now would they?! I just noticed the annex a!

So you're saying my upstream is capped?

It seems to be standard on PlusNet when migrating to limit upstream to ADSL1 levels, I've no idea why.
I don't know if that is the situation on other BT-based ISP's as well though.
You have to be on a very poor ADSL2+ connection to not get well over 1mbps upstream anyway (uncapped).
As for Annex M, let's see your "unleashed" stats first, it may not actually provide much more - you need a relatively short line and yours looks to probably be too long.

Re: Affordable ADSL2+ Annex M providers

You cant see my line?! How do you know it's too long? And btw there is a bt exchange about a mile away from my area...
They will remove the upload speed restriction on my line, that will be nice to finally have!

Higher line attenuation, longer you're line is.

Your router stats include a value for "attenuation" which, whilst not a direct measure, is a very good indication of the length of your phone line.
It suggests yours is about 2.8km long.
(don't forget phone lines rarely run directly to the exchange and often include a lot of "slack" and loops so direct or even by-road distance is at best a guide)
The attenuation of your line (which is the important value anyway) is at a level where Annex M largely "falls away" and gives little or no extra upload speed over the normal ADSL2+ of around 1300kbps.
As Annex M has to grab a chunk of downstream bandwidth the net result of turning it on on "longer" lines (such as yours) is often to just significantly reduce download speeds with no meaningful improvement in uploads.

A lot of us use http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php to get a good guess of the line length and the expected speeds.

So my upload should be better than my download because the number is smaller...
