Re: Absolute Appauling Speeds

Hi steve74,
I would feel lucky if I could get speeds into four figures of late! My download speed was 451kb/s a few moments ago.
Speeds of 6Mb/s were achievable before the begining of October ! A distant memory !

Re: Absolute Appauling Speeds

Hi steve74,
The speeds have been fluctuating for weeks now, nothing to do with the weather (I'm in North Wales). I can only hope they are going to get a grip of it otherwise there will be a significant migration from Plusnet, which is a great pity ,they have been a great provider up 'till now.
Fingers crossed !

Re:Absolute Appauling Speeds

Hi guys,
As per the posts we're making in other threads we are looking into these issues. The extra capacity should help when the network is back in balance (see http://status.plus.net for more details on these issues) and we're working to get that sorted. Sorry for the slow speeds and problems, we'll keep you posted on what's going on.

Re: Absolute Appauling Speeds

Yes,thanks Matt for the response and the comforting words that things are happening to overcome the problems.
I certainly hope some significant improvement is imminent because sometimes its almost unusable in the evenings.
It's now about a month since the instability started here. Thats an awful long time for a fault to be allowed to persist.
Lets hope for the best !

Any idea what the initial problem was, or what happened.  It was fine before 3-4 weeks ago, then it seems all of a sudden browsing on an evening was a nightmare.

Re: Absolute Appauling Speeds

I suspect it was down to a need for additional capacity, plus average usage increasing beyond our projections.
We have the additional capacity, we just need the network to be in and stay in balance without these pipe drops we've been seeing.
