ASUS DSL-N66U / DSL-AC68U - Information please

(If you mean the info you gave me earlier)
I was compiling a report for someone and was trying to make a good case that a certain manufacturer fell miles behind every other VDSL modem when it came to info you could get from a certain router.

The (Asus) does ok when it comes to info about the line.  OK theres a bug in there..  but its not completely useless, and still provides a heck of a lot of info than a certain other.

Line stability is another matter though and not what Id been asked to report on.
If you want line performance I will suggest you look for a router with a DSL  BCM chipset

ok i got the dsl-ac68u and i believe its bcm in the log it has this eth0: Broadcom BCM47XX 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Controller 6.37.14.86 (r456083)

Asus never sell any BCM chipset, never is. All Asus routers come with MediaTek chipset. Kitz will tell you that Asus does not have any BCM chipset. Check here: http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?topic=14436.0

So the DSL-AC68U has Broadcom ethernet (LAN) and Broadcom WiFi, that doesn't mean it's got Broadcom DSL. Looking at the firmware, the DSL-AC68U seems to be an unusual device, since the firmware contains two filesystems for different CPU architectures (one ARM, the other MIPS). Its "dual dedicated CPUs" must be each running a separate operating system.

Run:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
That will tell you the chipset. I'm pretty sure Asus use Ralink/MediaTek for their modem routers.

how can i pull my line stats. adslphxcmd info --show does not work

ASUSWRT DSL-AC68U are very bad hardware for VDSL that will trigger DLM. There is lot of problem arise here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=26944969 and http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18625061
DSL-AC68U uses a MediaTek chipset for its DSL, this has lineage back to the Trendchip chipsets. Trendchips have a bad rep for poor reliability especially on bad and/or long lines. I would recommend to return the DSL-AC68U as not fit for purpose and use a modem/router in bridge mode and the ASUS RT-AC68U wireless router instead?

i have already taken back 2 dsl n66u's and then got this one. the thing is i think if we are all going to take them back how are they ever going to fix the bugs, with out us. if we stick with it the more things will get fixed and then they can concentrate on new features.

The DSL-AC68U seems to be pretty much a WiFi router and separate VDSL2 modem, but they're just in the same box.
Once you're in telnet in the WiFi router part, you'll need to telnet again to get into the modem, but of course you'll need to work out it's IP address. Try:
cat /proc/net/arp
That should show the IP addresses of all connected devices. You'll have to work out which one is the modem, it'll be one you don't recognise. Then telnet to that IP, and then if you do "cat /proc/cpuinfo", it'll be totally different. Then you'll be able to access the modem stats.
