ASDL+2 21CN questions

Hi. just a couple of questions,
1) Will you move all your users to 21CN or will it be based on location or exchange market (1. 2 or 3)
2) Can you move people faster if they ask now?

Thanks for any help

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

1) all users who are on ADSL2+ enabled exchange will be moved, regardless of market.
2) You can ask but PN cannot always speed things up, especially if your exchange has not been upgraded to 21CN yet..
oh, and it's called ADSL2+ not ADSL+2

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

hi, i think i did not make question 1 clear i meant exchanges that haven't got 21CN at the moment and by market i mean will they do it if your in say rural "in the middle of nowhere" places with 2 or 3 plusnet users, or will we never get it because there is no demand. thanks

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

The number of Plusnet users makes no difference - all ISPs except the LLU suppliers use the service provided by BT Wholesale (Hull excepted).

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

Hi macman2, unfortunately your exchange isn't showing an eta for 21CN so you'll have to stick with plain on ADSL for a while yet I'm afraid.
For clarification, all customers will eventually be moved to 21CN and will be provisioned on ADSL2+ if their estimated speed is over 4mbps or on ADSL1 (=ADSL Max) if their estimate is less than 4mbps.

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

As far as I'm aware it's based on your standard BT line estimate as we use the same process to decide whether to provision new signups on ADSL1 or ADSL2+.

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

From http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php
Fixed ADSL:  1024 kbps (1 Mb)
DSL Max:  1500 kbps (1.5 Mb)
21CN WBC : 2000 kbps (2 Mb)
Sync currently 4,800kbps with up time over 30 days

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

Do the end user have an input on the decision whether it's adsl1 or adsl2+. When I decided to go on the adsl2+ trial it was not for increase in downstream speeds but for the increase in upstream speed for no additional cost. I was on a fixed 2mbps connection and requested not to be upgraded to adslMax when it was launched a few years ago and since being transferred over to adsl2+ I have had periods when my profile has been down to 1500kbps but I get 800kbps upstream and that is important to me.

Re: ASDL+2 21CN questions

@itsme
Customers already on 21CN will not be regraded and any customer can request to go on to ADSL1 or ADSL2+ at any time, assuming those products are available.
