My test results:-
DSL TEST RESULTS
1 - INTERFACE TEST RESULTS :
The interface test is passed
2 - MODEM TEST RESULTS :
MODEM test is passed
3 - LINE TEST RESULTS :
TEST IS FAILED : CO modem did not respond to OAM cells from RT modem.
Possible causes :
1 - The set of OAM VPI/VCI does not match with the ones at CO side.
2 - OAM LoopBack type is not the proper type.
Remedies :
1 - Check the VPI/VCI and use the correct values.
2 - Check the OAM LoopBack type and use the proper type.
4 - NETWORK TEST RESULTS :

Now closing down this problem TPO..

If you can possibly hold on until Monday I'll get your upstream uncapped.

The whole point of a trial is that some of us put up with, and work through the issues, so that when the product is ready to release to everybody else, these issues have been mostly ironed out.
Its a bit silly to try it, then simply recommend that others don't bother trying, simply because you have had issues.
It may be that your problem can be resolved, and its this sort of experience that is most useful to PN - sure, they'd love it to work great for all of us on the trial, but then that would leave them ill-prepared for issues 'in the real world'.
Are you prepared to work through some diagnostics to see if you can get back to your 9700kbps (or higher?!?!) - you might be pleasantly surprised by the results.

Quote from: websurfer 1.9 Km cable length from the BT exchange. I was running at 7000Kbs.
That cable length should give an attenuation around 26dB and a maximum 8128kbps on ADSL-Max.
With ADSL2+ you should be around 17 or 18mbps.
This suggests you have problems, internal wiring is the commonest one, and as has been noted the whole point of a trial is to learn from them and improve by working together (Customer and PlusNet).
(my line is a bit shorter at about 1.5km & 21dB attenuation and achieves over 21mbps)

would typically give 8mbps or thereabouts on Max and 15mbps on ADSL2+

Can you run DMT or Routerstats against your router to monitor it and get more details?
Have you swapped filter and router and run directly from the BT Test Socket?

Have you managed to connect to the test socket behind the faceplate on the NTE5?

Quote from: websurfer Yes connected direct to the NTE5.. modem runs fine, not modem problem suspect exchange or network fault.
With all due respect, without some pretty extensive testing it's fairly difficult to suspect anything!
As has been noted before in this thread, you should be seeing speeds of around 15Mbps, give or take. Could you let us know what your current SNR Margin is, immediately after a router reboot?
B.

27dB on ADSL MAX = sync rate of about 7500KbpsThese attenuata (a word invented by me as the plural of attenuation) are all on the same bits of wire.
34 dB on ADSL2 = sync rate of about 6400Kbps
37 dB on ADSL2+ = sync rate of about 6600Kbps
(I know that we are not supposed to be offered ADSL2 - but some of us get it).

After going through 3 wireless routers (all connected to the BT box) and a fair bunch of dangly filters I fitted an i-plate.
This fixed the really bad 22+dB noise margins imposed on me.
It's still not right:-
Quote adsl: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: Showtime Channel: FAST, Upstream rate = 1080 Kbps, Downstream rate = 6451 Kbps
Link Power State: L0
Mode: ADSL2
Channel: Fast
Trellis: U:ON /D:ON
Line Status: No Defect
Training Status: Showtime
Down Up
SNR (dB): 8.1 4.5
Attn(dB): 34.0 17.9
Pwr(dBm): 0.0 12.6
Max(Kbps): 7632 1152
Rate (Kbps): 6451 1080
These "results" were taken today, as were the following graphs:-
(Note the scales - these are very stable, despite appearences)
All connections via wireless to the router plugged into the i-plated BT socket.
(The test socket makes no difference).
That drop at 2pm appears to be a missed reading from the router.
