Re: ADSL2 gateway problems Ticket ID: 31337606

I've been having what sounds like the same problem. I'd originally put it down to the weather, as I'd suddenly got hit by poor performance, packet loss and dropping connections since last Tuesday despite a good stable line sync, but I'm now beginning to suspect it's down to being put on 21CN.
I'm guessing from your profile you're in Salford and connected to the Pendleton exchange, in which case that happens to be the same one I'm connected to. If that's the case, I suspect that's where the problem lies!
If anyone from support reads this, I've had a ticket opened since Wednesday (31437640) that hasn't had a reply yet...

OMG you dont know how happy I am to hear that!
Yes I am probably going Pendleton exchange - in Langworthy here...  Smiley
Sorry you are having problems too - but man, its such a relief to see that it could be the exchange being evil and not me going mad...

It basically gives you priority traffic weighting.

Mand, is that available as a add-on for all accounts, presumably at a cost?

Ahh well....
As there is another guy who seems to live quite close to me who is now having the same issues since the upgrade - maybe its our exchange... nothing to do with the line itself but what its passing though (I have no idea what an exchange looks like)...

Re: ADSL2 gateway problems Ticket ID: 31337606

It's possibly exchange related. If that's the case I'd expect to see better results from the elevated weighting though (much like switching to Max Premium on a 20CN congested exchange).

Re: ADSL2 gateway problems Ticket ID: 31337606

So - what next? Smiley
What's happened Recap:

  • I have bought a new router

  • changed RJ45

  • I have taken everything back to the master socket, no extensions, 3 different micro filters.

  • ran from wireless and cabled just to make sure.

  • BT have been out and fixed 2 line faults - battery contact and a rusty small one...

  • BT ADSL have been out and found a perfect line.

  • Plusnet have prioritised my traffic

Just so we can see at a glance.

Reading the last few posts I'm not sure that change will have gone through yet. Changes normally happen overnight and we're not sure when Rami placed the order.

So something snapped.... we arnt sure what - but I did a packet catching wireshark test, then tried to connect to BT Test account, which meant resetting the router, but I had the wrong details... so I reconnected with my account and:
