[ADSL2+] Is this normal during line training?

After having a rocky start with ADSL2+ (due to using a 15m phone extension cable  :-X) I moved to a shorter* (3m) cable and moved the router and got a stable (but disappointing) 6000Kbps sync (used to be 8128 on 20CN) which was stable for 3.5 days.
The line dropped and came back at over 20000Kbps but the SNR had bottomed out with poor download speeds and intermittent connectivity. Prodding it in the router (adsl configure --snr 150) to get it back up again restored the line at 10080Kbps and a sensible SNR.
So, back to the original question, is that normal or should be I be getting ready to raise a fault once training is done?
* The extension is needed because I can't mount the router above my front door where the master socket is.

DLM manages your line the same way DRM manages your rights.
Look at all the pretty graphs! (now with uptime logging!)
