ADSL2+ 21CN

well this is not going to be a nice post to plusnet and hope other customers get the chance to read it.
as of 11/07/10 i upgraded to Pro with included 20GB bandwidth and to switch over to the 21cn adsl2+   network
after the amount of phone calls i have made since the 13th to them about the [Censored] CONNECTION I HAVE HAD and been told 48 hours or 72 hours is beyond the joke.
i have had 1 call out from a bt engineer to which there is a fault somewhere this call out was on 04/08/2010.

as for my bt test goes i only have PrtScn ov what ip profiles download and uploads speeds i been given,but as people will see by my dsl logs it doesnt look good.

but he left this msg on my answer phone and i qoute 2 days which is 48 hours i shall receive an update from plusnet on what is happening.
did i get that call or any update from you.. NO I DIDNT i had to contact them which i was then told it will be possibly tomorrow.
now this as left me so annoyed i do not want your  link:censored service no more to which i said on phone,now i need to contact them on monday to do,
i you think you will get a penny from me you have another thing coming,as for your thomson router i will mail it back to you but you will be paying for it because am not.

I can see you are angry. In my opinion, I don't think swearing will get you anywhere. I'm having speed issues and it is a slow process to get these kind of faults fixed.
I guess as you have been on the phone to the support dept you have been told to unplug everything from your master socket except your router. BT will have do some tests. These do take a few days to complete so the statistical trends can be seen. I'm in the same position as you. I can't use the phone till the tests are completed.
Would you consider waiting till the tests are completed and Plusnet get back to you with the next phase of the fault finding?
As soon as someone senior at Plusnet sees your post on Monday it will be chased up.
PS If you don't like your current 14000 speed come down here and swap it for a  very flaky 3000 speed instead.

The main problem is that your upstream speed is very low, averaging at a guess less than 50kbps. If you are on a capped upstream product it should be 448kbps, around 8-10 times faster. A restricted upstream speed will hugely slow down your downstream, even though you're connecting at over 14000kbps downstream. There's little or no bandwidth available for upstream ack packets, so the downstream is choked, and you don't see the benefit of the good downstream rate.
I wonder if when applying the upstream cap, someone put a decimal point in the wrong place? Easiest way I can think of sorting this is for support to remove the upstream cap altogether. You'll have to ask, though, unless a staff member picks up on this.

That sounds plausible, Jaggies. Does it explain the very low upstream SNR? (i.e. would the upstream SNR be as low as it is even though the upstream connection is so very slow?) It looks like the 'normal' downstream sync (with an SNR of around 6) would give a sync speed of 17Mbps, so the line itself is clearly in pretty good condition. Uncapping the upstream definitely seems to be the most sensible first step, and it might be all that's needed.

I don't think that's possible , its either capped at 448 or its uncapped. My guess is that with that low upstream synch you've either got a line fault ( although why its not affecting the downstream is strange !! ) or more likely a router fault. Have you got another router you could try ? Come to think of it, have you actually tried the existing router in the test socket ( the socket behind the Master socket faceplate ) ?

bt line profile was at 6500k
i was getting  close to 6 meg down with a 385kbps upload  on good days.
this was on 20cn network.

yes tried all the tricks with plugin it into the master socket switching routers filters rj11 rj45 leads.
i not very happy that i had to switch from a netgear dg834g v4 and i had a dg834g v5 with the old 20cn network i was on.
i even tried upgrading the firmwire on both routers,v4 router would not even have the dsl light flash,as for the v5 the dsl light would just constant flash,no connections could be made by both.
now with this thomson tg585 v7 router,i been looking through the logs for everything and when on a phone call to pn i asked them what is this and the replay i had was nothing to worry about.

Very odd that!, both the v4 and v5 should be ADSL2+ compatible. I would guess you've got a line fault, given that it was fine on 20CN it suggests it might be a fault on the 21CN line card to which you have now been connected. As dratdestroyer says, its likely that one of the Digi Care team will spot this thread on Monday and get some action taken.

yeah thats what i thought, i payed good money for them and now seem i cant use them,but i was told to hang on to them as in the future they should be compatible.
i am so used to the netgear`s i missing them dearly,as for the thomson 585v7 i think they never ever should used them,i was looking at the recent log files,it seems to have alot of activity going on.
this is just one of the error i do get

yeah i know he is coming wednesday, and with some major luck i should be back to normal,but i dont think i will be.
plusnet as been pretty good in the past and on the rare occasions some slow speeds,to which gone back to normal.
as for this months issue man it as been a disaster,takes ages to load web pages.as for tryin to watch youtube, i have to leave it buffer fully then rewatch it.uploading emails takes ages,
and using voip programs like teamspeak3 to chat with fellow gamers and friends,total disaster,such break up on it my friends can barely understand what am saying.
as for trying to do any gaming which was the reason on my upgrading package i not done any since the 11/07..  (impossible to do) .
anyway we will wait till tomorrow to see what happens,just thought i would do a few speed tests today this is how it looks.

well bt engineer called today and fixed the problem,engineer name chris,i was well impressed with this result as i am now back up and running,N1 CHRIS.big thumbs up for you   i hope plusnet will forward my compliments to your work to day.
it was a fault at the exchange and he done a lift and shift,but why didnt the first engineer do this on the 4th which was supposed to of happen
