ADSL constantly dropping out for 36+ hours now

My ADSL is dropping out like nobody's business, my 'phone line sounds like someone's eating crisps on it, & if any members of staff are watching I've  opened it as an issue on ticket  # 189290955 .

This has been going on for about 36 hours now

Re: ADSL constantly dropping out for 36+ hours now

Could I flag this up to the Faults Team, please?

I've now had over 80 (EIGHTY) drops since 10:33 yesterday, and I've yet to see a reply to ticket #

189290955, which I posted at 10:23 yesterday morning.

broadband is all but unusable rn

Re: ADSL constantly dropping out for 36+ hours now

thanks Matthew.

It's unusable now, I'm having to use my 'phone on 4G as a hotspot to post this.

Re: ADSL constantly dropping out for 36+ hours now

OK thanks Adam.

I've sent a text back and that's updated the ticket.

Basically I can be here any time they want to come so long as I have a couple of hours notice.

If they find it's the internal wiring tho, the last person to touch that was an OpenReach engineer so we might have to have  a little discussion about whether a £65 charge is appropriate.

Re: ADSL constantly dropping out for 36+ hours now

Cheers, I can't make the booking just yet as the fault report isn't in the right status. It should be in a couple of hours time so I've set myself a reminder to come back to this for you later.

Re: ADSL constantly dropping out for 36+ hours now

OK, engineer been, looked at wiring here, at cabinet & exchange; done something, not sure what, seems to have synced up ok (to 22Meg according to the router, which is the fastest I've ever seen it) & has held up ok so far for an hour.

Obviously I'll monitor for 24-48 hours and if all still OK I'll update the ticket to close it.

thanks for your help so far.

Re: ADSL constantly dropping out for 36+ hours now

Fix

Hi @paulh,

Thank you for confirming.

I have retested the line, which has caused the connection to drop however, the line appears stable and is operating within the estimated speed. I will place the question on hold for 72 hours so we can retest the service and get back in touch.

Feel free to let us know on here if you experience any further disconnections,

No problem, thanks again.
