ADSL conenctin dropping out frequently

Since Friday I have the following problem
for most of the day the ADSL connection is up for only a few minutes (2-5)
for t to be down for the next 10-15 minutes
when the adsl connection returns it takes the router several tries to get PPPoA going (often with user and password errors)
And then in the afternoon/evening this all clears and I have a connection time of several hours without any issue?
While this happens the adsl carries seems to stay up, (WAN led)
so is this routing ?
no hardware changes on my side  Vigour 2600 VG and it has worked for the last 2 years without any serious issues.
posted a "my question" .. which triggered the normal 48 hour delay message snore.......
This is in the harrow area, are others having similar fun?

Re: ADSL conenctin dropping out frequently

Hi there,
There were no known issues at the Harrow exchange over the course of the weekend.
If you can, could you possibly try changing your microfilter and ensure that you are connecting to your master socket via a filter and see if you are then able to maintain a connection?
This could also potentially be an issue with your router, or alternatively the line or the exchange.  Let us know how you get on.

Re: ADSL conenctin dropping out frequently

You not turned interleaving off have you?
Many gamers try to reduce their ping by doing this but it just leads to router dropping the line.

Re: ADSL conenctin dropping out frequently

I had this for a while (again for no reason)
When PN turned interleaving on it pretty much stopped.
Also like James says change your microfilters and try another router.
