Am using Wired Ethernet Cable to PC so I get a little more speed.
Did reboot the router early on (via router log in) to do BT Wholesale Speed Test
Broadband Speed Test Results
3.44 / 0.09 & 80.25 ms (just now on Ethernet)
1.58 / 0.12 & 16ms on wifi (ios app)
Download speedachieved during the test was - 3.44 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1.2 Mbps-4 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 3.54 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.09Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps
Started off on about 13.
Should be 10 - 19.5 (average 17)

The line attenuation figures indicate a problem somewhere.
What are the router stats like when you connect to the test socket?

Hi Browni
Will it be ok to unplug router to test behind the bt socket plate or will it upset the DLM (line training) ?

Yep. One or two disconnections are normally fine, it's repeated disconnections that upset DLM.

Now that's a lot better.
When the speed was slower was everything connected filtered?
Also, have another look at my link above and see if removing the ring wire will help.

Hello Browni
Thanks for reply...
The WIFI has such a variable range of 1.7 to 13.82
Some Drop-outs (can't see / pick-up router) occur though restarting/resetting windows 10 or resetting ipad mini 2 wifi can help

Hi Again Browni
Because WIFI speed is so variable for me it's hard to attribute the cause, though it has mysteriously improved tonight
I'll bear your ring wire link in mind. (though slight hesitation in fiddling with old 1960's wires)
I badgered Openreach to fit the NTE5 socket as i had a relic there before!! (after low speeds with last isp probable cause a faulty DSLAM)
I went temporarily on an extension lead to use an ethernet cable, as wifi was so bad (two filters (phone and end of extension) BUT wifi stayed the same until tonight !!!

There's two issues here, WiFi and your internal wiring.
Concentrating on the wiring issue your first post contained the following stats
7 - Data rate: 152/4011
8 - Maximum data rate: 148/3648
9 - Noise margin: 5.5/4.8
10 - Line attenuation: 54.9/52.0
After connecting to the test socket these improved greatly to
7 - Data rate: 1203/16427
8 - Maximum data rate: 1200/16464
9 - Noise margin: 6.1/6.0
10 - Line attenuation: 14.7/26.5
Which shows that there is an issue with the internal wiring which needs sorting out before anything else. Common causes of this are the ring wire which I mentioned above and unfiltered devices.
Your third set of router stats have me confused.
7 - Data rate: 1203/16411
8 - Maximum data rate: 1204/16456
9 - Noise margin: 6.1/6.1
10 - Line attenuation: 14.7/26.5
Everything looks fine here so what was different between this and your initial post?

Hi Browni
Thanks for replying........
Wifi speed (master socket) 7.05 to 14.10 after musical chairs. (have put router up higher now)
It just so funny that before musical chairs wifi was below 2 (master and extension) and between 2 to 4 on Ethernet (ext lead)
I had o2 BB (which closed down) on the extension lead without problems. (With my last ISP I didn't with the DSLAM probs)
My Dect phone has been lighting up for a few nights with line cord error which is strange though a dial tone and tried 17070 (2) and no crackle or pop
