Turn off the main socket (openreach modem) do not pull out the telephone socket. Wait for 10 minutes and turn back on. The speed should pick it up.

Re: 40/10 or 80/20 which one?

My advice would be to ensure that your modem remains connected as much as possible. Interleaving is on High so the line must have seen a large amount of errors, which probably also the reason for the drop in sync speeds.
As explained here: http://community.plus.net/library/browsing/fttc-dlm-what-it-is-how-it-works/ the only way we can get the speeds back up, is to ensure that your connection remains stable and (hopefully) error free and our speeds should return back to normal.

Chris, he was on 40/10 because if he was on 80/20, then why is he on 10Mbps upload speed capped? Sound like it nothing to do with speed issues. I am sure he is on the wrong product 40/10 because of the upload speed.

Re: 40/10 or 80/20 which one?

You are on 80/20 because the exchange say you do have upload of 20Meg profile. So, u are on the right product 80/20.
Please check your laptop or pc on wired setting and make sure the Lan Speed & Duplex set at 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex not 100 Mbps Full or Half Mbps. The smartphone/mobile phones does limited the speed on wifi.

Re: 40/10 or 80/20 which one?

Hi Boodz85,
Based on the outcome from the latest uploaded speed test your acceptable range is between 30.75Mbps - 38.44Mbps and your line is performing at 37.34Mbps. This is towards the top end of the acceptable range. You are definitely on 80/20 so there isn't much I can suggest regarding increasing your speed. If you're seeing a slight decrease in speed it may be due to an increase in uptake of connections in your cabinet and this isn't something that we can control, unfortunately.
If you do feel that the issues you're experiencing are due to a fault then you can raise this to us here: http://faults.plus.net

Re: 40/10 or 80/20 which one?

Surely i may as well switch to your "Unlimited Fibre" with "Up to 38Mb download speeds" and  "Up to 19.5Mb upload speeds" and "Unlimited usage" and save myself £5 a month, does this not make more sense????
also if i do this will any discounts for loyalty that i have in place still be honored, namely the 18 month agreed discount and my referrals discount?Huh

The referrals will remain but as regards the other discounts the official answer in not
However ringing the Customer Options Team on Cancellations may give an acceptable result

as much as i appreciate jim's answer i would like a clarification and opinion of a plusnet member of staff to aid in this decision.

That's something that would need to be discussed with the Customer Options Team. Normally, when you move from one product to another, discounts are automatically removed. If you have a chat with our Customer Options Team, they will be able to discuss this in more detail with you and may be able to offer you a deal which matches or betters your current deal.
P.S - Your referrals will remain.
