38/76mb?

Hi All,
I've had Fibre a couple of weeks, originally went for the 38mb package as the checker said I could get 35mb (estimated).
I'm actually getting 38mb, which is great but I have upgraded to Unlimited now for the extra data.
Can I get any faster speeds? I have a neighbour round the corner on the same cabinet and they are with Plus.net and getting 73mb.
Thanks, Max

Re: 38/76mb?

Two days ago.
My thinking is either there is a lock on the line to 38mb or something needs a nudge from their end.

Re: 38/76mb?

Max, I presume I'm the neighbour your referring to Smiley
What's it say on here for current line speed https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed ?
Mine says:
Phone exchange:
HASLEMERE
Estimated line speed:
66Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2013-01-18 07:15:50
Current line speed:
77.4 Mb
If yours doesn't have something high, support might be needing to change the profile from 40/10 to 80/20 for you.

Re: 38/76mb?

What's the speed estimate on here http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.TelephoneNumberOutput for your number?
Mine was "up to 66.4"  but I've just checked for where we rented a couple of years ago (at the top of Nappers Wood) - that says "up to 38.4mb", so depending on where you are, maybe 38 is the best you can get :S

Yes it says that, but I cant understand why as the distance is similar!

Re: 38/76mb?

Hi,
The estimate might be based on the settled rate that you are now seeing at your property. I can place an order for you to be moved onto the 80/20 product to see if we can get those speeds pushed up for you?

Re: 38/76mb?

Not sure exactly where you are, but  if the BT checker is saying "up to 38.4" for you, I guess your line's a lot longer than mine - mine goes overhead straight down the main road, and we're only two houses in from there.

Re: 38/76mb?

Thanks for getting back to me. No problem, I've just placed that order for you, so it should complete at some point tomorrow.
Let me know how you get on Smiley

Re: 38/76mb?

Hi,
This doesn't reflect if the modify order Chris placed had completed, however it has completed so you should now see the improved speeds.
