21CN ADSL2 - How can i tell?

ok, this might seem like a stupid question, but how do i know if i have been switched to 21CN/ADSL2 ? i was/am due to be switched today, and about an hour or so ago i lost connected. so thinking that was me being changed over i did a speed test hoping my download speeds would have from up from the 6Mb/s i am used to to, something faster, but sadly not. howver my upload speeds have more then doubled to 0/75Mb/s.

so again i as, is there a way of telling if i have been switched over yet?

You have otherwise your upload speed would still be 448kbps

Also check DMT Tool, it will tell you if you are on ADSL, ADSL2+ mode. Useful tool.

Hi nicksy,
As Jim says, yes you have. I've just ran a check on your sync speed and set the profile on our side to 16400. You should see the increase shortly. The reason you hadn't seen the increase was because our system hadn't picked up the new profile as yet.

how long should i wait before i start to worry that my speeds are still the same? 
im really not very good when it comes to routers and internet issues, so i have now idea how to check anything other then just doing a speed test, lol

nevermind, i just need another speed test and it seems to have iproved a bit...

do you know if thats the most i am likely to get as i assumed i would be getting somewhere between 11.2Mbps - 18.0Mbps?

From what Jojo posted earlier your sync speed (the connection speed to the exchange) is about 18,000kbps
Can you post the result from the BT speedtest  http://speedtester.bt.com/

I've checked your account and the speed estimate is 17mb so you may experience speeds between that and the figure Jim has mentioned.

As I guessed your speed at about 18,000 I wasn't far wrong - just a bit low.
Your speed is still being restricted by this value for Current Line Speed at a guess https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed

ok, i might be sounding a little stupid here, but as i said apart from upload.download speeds in terms of Mb/s i really dont understand much else,
should i be expecting higher download speeds then the 8/9Mbps i am getting now?

Like oldjim say your line could be restrict to 5.5Mb on your member site: https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
if so, then one of PN staff might have a look for you and put the correct profile set at 16.4Mb to match BT one.

Not really, they usually get it manual straight away when PN staff see your current line speed and you should get 16.4Mb sooner.
