Don't think that you can access it when working as a modem. It is not doing anything apart from providing a connection.
See this post
https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Plusnet-hub-2-as-a-modem-only/td-p/1851105

Everything is working with the setup, but every so often I'd like to login to the hub2.

I cannot for the life of me configure my ER-X to allow access to 192.168.1.254 (assuming that is the correct IP now the Hub2 is in modem mode)

Anyone a wizard with the labyrinthian firewall setup on the ER-X?

Thanks in advance for any help you can send my way!

@mystreet1

Don't think that you can access it when working as a modem.

The Hub 2 gui is still accessible via the 192.168.1.254 IP. The problem is that you are only normally able to access it by direct connection to one of its LAN ports with a device that also has a static IP in the 192.168.1.x subnet.

@mrme01

I cannot for the life of me configure my ER-X to allow access to 192.168.1.254 (assuming that is the correct IP now the Hub2 is in modem mode)

It IS possible to access a modem via the WAN connection with some routers. It requires that the router supports setting a 'WAN IP Alias'. You must be able to allocate a WAN IP Alias in the 192.168.1.x subnet. How, and if, you can do this with the Edgerouter I've no idea Im afraid

NB This also means that your LAN subnet must be set to something other than 192.168.1.x (often the default for many routers).

edit: for information here's how you would do it with an Openwrt router https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/access.modem.through.nat . It MAY help ...

@mrme01

When I used a Hub two in bridge mode I had a PC with a second network interface, using IP 192.168.1.1/24. No default gateway or DNS was configured on the NIC used LAN1 of the Hub. My LAN uses 192.168.10.0/24

I recall a thread here a few years back where someone configured a second network port on their router hardware to connect to the Hub.

NB - there is no NTP sync so the event log start at 00:00 01 Oct, there is NO manual setting to correct this.

The connection is only useful for the viewing the ->Advanced settings -->Technical log / Event log.
