I'm not using either of these features in Gmail. but I don't think anyone has made this observation and there are people around here who may use such features.

Why anyone thinks Google is not reading their email is what surprises me. I get depressed when folks thing moving to Gmail is a solution rather than the problem.

The loss of Gmail POP3 email harvesting can only be good news. Any email client can do this without exposing folks to Google reading the contents. No one seems to ask why does Google provide GBs of storage for free? So their search engine can snoop on the contents.

As I said "I'm not using either of these features in Gmail."

However, this may throw further curve balls (unless 'balls' is filtered).
