Best budget WiFi extender

Goodmorning all, I am connected to full fibre broadband at 300mbps. The router is downstairs but the WiFi speed I get upstairs and some of the rooms downstairs is only about 25mbps on average. Which is the best budget WiFi extender I can get ? I have seen so many products on Amazon with differing views! Thanks

You will find that at 300Mbps they are all much of a mediocre muchness.Whichever you try, it must use the 5GHz band.

For reliable data transfer at these speeds you should use an Ethernet cable between the hub and devices but if you must have wireless then invest in a mesh system using an Ethernet backhaul.

I will leave that for others to answer. It depends on your budget and what bells and whistles you need.
I am of the opinion that any kit that needs these speeds should have an Ethernet input and a hard wired connection is the fastest, most reliable and cheapest solution. It can be a real pain to install but it only has to be done once.

I know you're speaking about budget equipment but if there's any chance of running an ethernet cable up an outside wall upstairs terminated with a ethernet wall socket at either end you should give it some consideration.

This gives you a solid starting point upstairs and might add a bit of value to the house.

You then only have to worry about each floor - powerline adapters could be used.
