VoLTE not an option on my phone

I have recently moved to Lebara and they have emailed to say VoLTE is now available and active on my SIM. I have just bought a new Galaxy A04s 4G phone but it does not have VoLTE as an option under mobile network settings. Updates are current and I reset mobile networks but the VoLTE option isn't showing.

I can use 4G for calls but I have read on the net that 4G reverts to 3G and I thought 3G is being phased out. My concern is that I have bought a phone which will be defunct in a few years time when 3G is phased out. Can anyone clarify.

Does your 4G icon become a 3G icon when you make a call? If not you're using '4G calling'

On my S23 Vodafone (Lebara) and O2 only offer '4G calling' but EE offers 'VoLTE'

Might just be the operator's implementation of calls over 4G.

If I make a call, it remains on 4G. Does that mean, I don't need to be concerned that the phone doesn't have a VoLTE option going into the future?

Hi @WorldMachine,
If the phone stays on 4G whilst making a voice call, then it has to be using VoLTE.

Ah, that’s interesting, I did wonder whether it was using VoLTE automatically, it seems that’s what it’s doing then, it just seems odd that it’s not showing under mobile networks but the phone is only two weeks old so maybe it’s now included as standard. Also I asked the question at Argos where I bought the phone and they assured me it had VoLTE so I think that settles it. Thanks so much for confirming.
