Plusnet FFTP setup for TPlink Vr2800

Getting FFTP full fibre installed tomorrow and not 100% of the configuration needed in the VR2800 for it to work?

Anyone got experience of the configuration setup?

I understand a cat 6 between BT Terminal and WAN port on router. not sure internet connection type or VLAN Id number?

touch wood get mine turned (FTTC) on tomorrow as well... as far as I know you only need:

username@plusdsl.net

PPPoE

will let you know if anything different, as I to am using a Tp-link AC2800 (Archer VR2800)...

@infinite for FTTC you will also need vlan ID set to 101

I have a TPLink Archer VR2800. I have upgraded to full fibre today and am trying to get my router to work with full fibre rather than using the one supplied by Plusnet. I have done the following things and I'm facing no internet connectivity;

Set the operation mode from DSL modem router mode to Wireless Router Mode (I did this because it was expecting me to connect to a phone line which I no longer have)

Connection type: PPPoE

Username and password same as works on the new plusnet router.

Vlan ID to 101

However, it will not connect. Any ideas?

@midnite VLAN ID is 'none' - it is not used with a Full Fibre connection.

From a google search.. " Does The Archer VR2800 work with fibre broadband".

The Archer VR2800 has one DSL port and 4 ethernet ports, but no fibre port, to make it work, you need buy a fibre modem, so that we can connect it to the fibre cable provided by ISP and connect the modem to VR2800 and get internet.

Thanks @shutter . Although, AFAIK, the ONT is a 'modem'.

I'm happy to get a new router etc. What do I need to look for in terms of it supporting full fibre.

Would something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08C3VRM6M work? It has the lan2/p6 port on there which I believe is necessary.

@midnite The vr2800 should work fine in wireless router mode. Connect the ONT to lan port 4 (wan port ) configure pppoe and as@jab1 says , disable vlan id

If it doesn't work then try a factory reset and start by setting wireless router mode first.

The white box BT will have installed in place of your master socket.

Hello going to add one extra tip to this useful thread. Had full fibre fitted today and installer said just move the existing cable into the ONT. No that's not what you have to do... DSL cable is no longer the right one, you're using the other type for devices into WAN4.

Ok just transferred from using ADSL to Full Fibre and thought I'd provide information on the transfer.
Step 1 - Unplug port from ADSL modem.
Step 2 - Using tether app login to Router and select Tools
Then change Operation mode.
Change from ADSL modem to Wireless Router. You will need Router to reload to enable.
Step 3 Enter User credentials
Username@plusnet.net
Login Password.
Plug in!
