HUB2 and USB port?

Morning All.

I've just setup HUB2 without difficulty but I find myself looking ar the USB port and wondering what I can use it for.

I have a NAS connected so I don't really need extra storage but I do have a number of spare drives mainly in the "Tech Graveyard" so it's tempting to plug them in even though they would be horribly slow and the effort pointless.

Is there a better use for that USB port? Why ont USB3?

Not only is it USB2, it also uses the SMB1 protocol.

It’s probably best just left doing nothing.

Not bad for powering a USB-powered switch if you need more ethernet ports.

I think it is disabled by default, but I could be wrong.

As said, you may as well use it as a power source. USB switch as Bob says, or it may charge your mobile if you have a USB cable for it.
