BT Smart Hub 2 using and Firmware updates

I am thinking of buying a BT Smart Hub 2 with Disk. Will it work on PlusNet and will the Smart Hub get Firmware updates?

with an admendment

with an amendment of only connecting the DSL cable to BT Socket (Via a filter if needed) after you have changed the correct setting to (yourusername@plusdsl.net) with your plusnet password and saved by pressing the tab at top of the page.

Do not have any odd symbols in your plusnet password. The BT Hub will not take them. ie %^&*()+£ etc

I am uncertain about the disc however

I use the Smart Hub2 with no problem

Is it true that you can't separate the bands on the Smarthub 2? If so have you heard of this causing issues?

Yes it is true, you are unable to seperate them on a Smart Hub 2, however had no issues.
