This is maddening. Had Fibre enabled last week & installed the Hub One, and since then I've had endless problems with bits of kit not connecting or disconnecting.
All the kit was absolutely fine on ADSL with an Asus router, not one single solitary glitch for over 2 years. But now? Wow.
1st Apple mobiles & iPads dropped connections & wouldn't reconnect without restarting. Solved (hopefully) by separating the 2.4 & 5 bandwidths, which are bizzarely synced by default.
Next the house heating hub (ethernet), failed to connect. Still not resolved fully, and it needs powered off & back on again daily if we don't want to either freeze or roast randomly.
Next the mobile phone signal box (ethernet). Fails to connect intermittently & needs powered off & on daily.
And now the Roku stick, which had been working OK, has been given the boot as well. It sees the wifi network, passes it's test to connect to the wifi network, but isn't being assigned an IP, so fails to connect. All available cures including secret Roku menus to disable pings have so far failed.
Are any tests carried out on these 'modems' before they get sent out? I'm really, really, struggling to believe they are.
Edit: Ok, Got the Roku sorted. After watching strings of "Lease requested" in the log, I assigned it a static IP & it connected immediately. Something not healthy with DHCP?

It's a 4 port (all Gigabit) VDSL router, with a/n/ac wireless. It'll be sent to new customers signing up to fibre from today and will mean an engineer is not sent as part of the fibre install.
