My Portal 404 error

Some time around 10pm I had some issues with these forums (see 'that' thread for the details)

However, the fix involved logging out of the my portal, clearing cache etc to be able to sign out of the forums.

I then found the forums were 'fixed'.

So I logged back into my portal and noticed some very strange 'changes' to the layout (it looked more modern)

And I also saw this after witnessing some odd changes in my portal

So Plusnet, were you 'in' the account between 10pm and 11:40pm?

What did you do, as it really made the account look very different?

When did you go 'out' of the account?

I only had the forum pages open and the account pages open, so if you weren't tinkering, who was?

I did nothing and all the weird pages go to around 90 seconds and all diverted to https://www.plus.net/ (I actually watched one page refresh itself)

Found the whole experience rather interesting and also a tad worrying at the same time.

Oh dear.

I think 'Plusnet Joe' has finally broke the internet!!

Now, the Plusnet home page, if left alone gives me:

I can't blame the Hub One, as I'm not using it

And my connection to the www is fine via my BTH6:)

I guess it could be the billing department

Why does this only happen on Plusnet?

And if you're tinkering, where's the sodding advanced warning!

I doubt this will help, but thus far:

I've tried dumping browser cache etc and the pages in red still do not work (or for billing it takes a while and then is fine)

Sorry to hear you were having trouble with your account page last night and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

For clarity everything looks good this side, no errors pages etc. Are you still having these issues? I can see you have previously tried clearing cache and cookies - could you try in another browser?

@Mads still having the same issues here as well. Seems to be that once you go to a url outside of the https://www.plus.net/member-centre/ e.g billing , then using the 'home' https://www.plus.net/member-centre/home or 'manage account' https://www.plus.net/member-centre/account or 'my perks' https://www.plus.net/member-centre/my-perks links give the 404 . Clicking the 'member centre' link from the 404 page or going to https://www.plus.net/member-centre/ root page directly, works

I've just checked this out and got it raised to our developer team. Should be a relatively easy fix as it just looks like a broken link path.

It was actually working, but didn't tell Mads, though this was around 16:30. Not sure why, but it really does seem to be a timer thing. If I do nothing with the page, something times out and then the error appears. Once the 404 occurs and I do nothing (again) the page reverts to https://www.plus.net/

Just kinda been able to prove it, when it works the tab is called Dashboard|Member Centre and if I do nothing.....

They are both the same portal page, just on different tabs!!

Has anyone actually informed the website technical department that the accounts part (eg viewing bills etc) does not work in firefox? I am using latest firefox and win 10 64bit. Iget the various bits of page at top and bottom but no content, for some bits it resorts to 404. All works with chrome but surely it should be made to work with firefox - a major browser not some obscure thing used by 3 folk and a dog!

Ok thanks - though I'm not sure if it is exactly the same, some definately as said with 404 and weird link problems but maybe does not explain why I get no bills etc displayed - just a blank bit in the middle, momentarily I sometimes see it saying 'loading' In chrome at that point it loads the various bill options page but as said just blank in firefox. firefox must be a bit odd - scottish power often did not work either and a couple of other sites, wish they would stick to old fashioned simple stuff and leave all the izzy whizzy alone!

I guess it might not be related, though I did see some oddities before the 404 errors

My billing page was missing randomly too (we're both using FF btw, but mine was defo up to date before this happened, plus the member centre was fine with FF until yesterday)

I have to agree, there's no need for all the fancy stuff

Just had a confirmation that the problem with the homepage links should now be fixed.

I've tried it with my own account and it does look to be sorted. But feel free to give it a whirl yourselves.

Yes the 404 errors appear to be fixed.

But that fix looks like it's broken something else...

If you log in to the member centre, have a tinker with the tabs available, flicking between them all a few times, in no set order. Rather than showing the previous page whilst the new tab is selected works on some, but others divert to the log in screen.

Thus far, these ones don't seem right:

https://www.plus.net/member-centre/home

(flick around all the tabs, allowing each one to load, then you might see the log in screen)

Also, some tabs selected are not being highlighted

(manage account tab doesn't have a pink line below the tab)

(my perks also not being highlighted)

Hi DS, I've not been able to replicate that. Did you wait for each tab to load first before clicking on another? Just wondering if you did that or clicked between them before each one loaded. - Adam

Yep, waited until each page was fully loaded each and every time.

https://www.plus.net/member-centre/home seems to be quick to load

from previous tab and then https://www.plus.net/member-centre/account seems quick to load

ditto and then https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=mybillsandpayments&?membermenu=billsandpayments is rather slow to load

ditto and then https://www.plus.net/member-centre/my-perks seems slow to load

https://www.plus.net/member-centre/product-change is quick

https://www.plus.net/member-centre/broadband is quick

https://www.plus.net/plustalk/index.php?page=wlr_my_account is quick

(though above tab causes TV tab to vanish)

https://www.plus.net/AddOns.html is quick

But moving back down in any order can - eg from addons if you click on manage account then you briefly see the log in screen (the large pink section).

Tabs as already mentioned don't always show a pink line under the sections mentioned.

edit. This used to happen before, but would've thought it would have been fixed by now too

(depending on which tab you pick, the TV tab is removed/hidden)

Note the edit, but this has always done it.

I'm using FF 66.0.4 if this will help

(with addons if this helps too)

I'm seeing it all of the time - the previously viewed screen doesn't always stay there whilst the new tab is loading. Are you guys saying you see the previous page until the another tab you clicked on has loaded?

Erm, ~~houston~~ plusnet we I have a problem.....

I've just fired up Edge (clean version, nothing extra installed) and I'm not getting the login page at all!!!!!

So to answer your question, yes just tried another browser and it's actually worse.

Will grab another device and test with FF first then whatever other browser is on that
