Will it affect our fibre broadband and mobile change over?

We’re bringing together our BT, EE and Plusnet brands to create the UK’s largest provider of fixed-voice, broadband and mobile services. It’ll take effect from 1 April 2018. And we’ll still do what we’ve always done; connect our customers to information, entertainment, friends and family - both at home and on the move.

BT is the largest provider of consumer fixed-line voice and broadband services in the UK and EE has the UK’s biggest and fastest 4G mobile network. BT Sport is the second largest provider of pay-TV sports channels in the UK and a leader in broadcast technology.

We buy access to fixed-line and broadband infrastructure from Openreach, and EE’s mobile network provides our mobile phone services. Because we know one size rarely fits all, we sell home phone, broadband, TV and mobile to our customers in a variety of packages - from all three brands.

We also sell a whole host of devices, from phones and wi-fi extenders to baby monitors and home cams. And we work closely with our suppliers to make sure our products and business operations are sustainable - from the first link in the supply chain through to our customers.

I just hoping PN will leave fibre broadband unchanged and plusnet mobile especially the smart cap set unchanged. If they change everything for fibre and mobile and removed smart cap then PN will lose more customers because of BT greed company.

Oh dear,

It was never a question of if but a question of when.

I am surprised it took BT that long.

Hope PlusNet and staff will survive.

We'll be down to two ISP's the way things are going - BT and Branson Media (for cable).

Just because there are three 'brands' doesn't mean that there will be three independent operations in the future. There's no reason that these should not all be combined in one single organisation with just three different headers to documentation etc. Seeing that this is all about increasing returns for shareholders and supporting a £8 Billion pension deficit, why would they keep them all independent if it's cheaper to have them all integrated - we shall see.

For once, it seems I jumped ship before it sank, my vodamoan service starts on Friday and my new router arrived today...

Guess 18 months from now there will be no more plusnet, so will have to see what's what when the time comes...
