This morning our phone developed a fault, making it unusable. Fortunately the internet was still working as normal so I followed through the automated procedures, a fault was found and passed on automatically (I assume) to Openreach. Frankly I fully expected to be without landline for several day so was surprised to receive a call from an engineer just 2.5 hours later informing me that the fault had been traced and fixed. Excellent stuff but I do wonder if the speed of response was something to do with the actual fault recorded on the ticket -
Fault location: EX
Diagnosis code: T099
Description: DANGEROUS VOLTAGE ON LINE - HAZARDOUS TO PERSONNEL
Whatever, well pleased to only have been without landline for a few hours.
