Plusnet criticised for appalling password practices - PLUSNET PLEASE RESPOND

The Register revealed on 27/11 that Plusnet has appalling password practices that create a number of security issues relating to the "fact" that Plusnet do not securely store user passwords and that their staff (and hence the bad-guys too) can access plain text copies of passwords .

I have not seen enough discussion of this issue on the Forum other than a thread that got bumped to "chit-chat" (by Strat), which is hardly the place for a significant security issue.
Plusnet should come clean and reassure its users that their systems are better managed than the article states.

On a point of detail. the moderators of this forum are not PlusNet employees nor do they set the security policy. Notwithstanding PlusNet should give a response.
