My understanding is that 'Totally Unlimited' in ASA-speak means 'Unlimited' in English. 'Unlimited' in ASA-speak doesn't really mean anything at all (like so many words in advertising); maybe 'marginally more than the average person who doesn't use their connection much uses'. It is a shame that ASA didn't rule in terms of plain English, and used Unlimited to mean Unlimited
It would certainly be interesting to know more details of the ASA investigation and what rules Plusnet out from being Totally Unlimited.

Well, I found out Plusnet decided to change the website due to an investigation by the ASA.
So you probably shouldn't be calling it totally/truly/100% unlimited here either.

You have to feel a little sad for the folks at the ASA and OFCOM trying to get this into simple and accurate language. This is not easy to do, but from what we see of this, it does also suggest that maybe they need people at the ASA and OFCOM who understand the whole issue first.
