Hi - switched to PlusNet a week ago and on the whole all is good. However - one biggish problem is that the VPN I use for work won't connect (it was fine with BT). I've tried all the suggestions on previous forum posts, firewall set to low (and also tried it off), various commands via telnet but to no avail. I'm using the free router supplied - is it possible to use a VPN with this? Or do I need to get a different router?

Check your firewall setting here - https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=firewall (you'll need to log in)
If it's set to "High" then that's what's blocking your VPN.

If you still have your BT hub most versions, if not all, can be used on Plusnet broadband.
