Service Status Line 0800 917 6714 - needs an 03xx number

A commitment has been made following Wednesday's major outage to make more use of the service status line - 0800 917 6714

This number is now going to have service effecting issues updated as and when required from today onwards.
I'll also try to get more visibility of this on our website.

This also needs to have a 03xx number so that it can be called within call plan from mobiles.

Or use Giffgaff where you don't pay for 0800 numbers

The race is now on - Will PN introduce a new number before 26th June 2015 as that's when Ofcom have decreed that 0800 numbers should be free from mobiles...

For people that don't get free phone numbers included in their mobile plan , 0800 buster is very useful
You call an 03 number, then input the free phone number, this will be either be free if you have included minutes or will be changed at your providers standard rate for 01.02.03 numbers
If you want to store the service status line number in your mobile, using the 03 number it would look like this; 03335558800p08009176714#
I have used 0800 buster for years with no problems

Well after a bit of googling this thread turns up.
It's such a shame that Chris Purvey's statement hasn't happened again. Well it's worse than a shame, it won't be Chris Purvey's fault, or Chris Pettitt's, but someone upstairs at Plusnet needs their rear end kicking.

Lost Internet connection last night for several hours, rang residential help line to get recorded message about delays in answering as major service fault. so sort of guessed it might be my problem but it was only a guess.
I knew there was a service phone number somewhere but didn't write it down, but it would seems that no recorded service status message was put on there, checked the number this morning and nothing on there about any problems past or existing.
I have made a note of this number for future use but am I wasting my time ringing it.....what is the point of the number if not updated?
