People migrating from BT a warning

BT have a policy where the broadband is migrated, they give 1 week for the voice to be migrated, if it doesnt occur they will automatically recontract the voice for another 12 months.
This make's plusnet "wait for 2 weeks" policy not a good thing.
Thankfully I got BT to withold my obligation out of goodwill.

They can't do that - it is illegal.
Has anyone reported them to OFCOM

I agree the lagality is on shaky ground at the least, thats how I got BT to remove my obligation. But regardless I feel this warning needed posting as a fair few people may get caught out.

The only time we have to wait for 2 weeks on a migration is with a phone line, and that's because it's an OFCOM regulation?
Also I suspect this is a case of the MAC being used within a week rather than the migration actually having to complete, though could be wrong there.

yes this is about the 2 week wait for the phone.
BT told me they recontracted my line because you guys waited too long, they say they allow 1 week for the voice to migrate.
As it stands I am still recontracted but they removed my obligation to pay when the mgiration goes through.

I'm afraid we've no way to get round the two weeks, I'd definitely take that up with the existing provider though. Sorry the move has become a pain.

well if it is the case ofcom require a 2 week delay then what BT did does seem bizzare.
