Why did the person who replied to this question suggest I should be changing my 'wireless channel' when it is clear from the router stats logs I attached this problem is to do with ADSL?
See https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_question&id=61750376

To be fair I believe my colleague was right to suggest that, however I thought the response could have been worded better as I believe they were implying that as we can only see 2 drops recorded in the past 24 hours that ins't something we can raise as a fault with our suppliers I'm afraid as it doesn't meet the relevant criteria simply because it should have no other detrimental effects on your connection as per what I mentioned in my reply to this post here: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,108683.msg931264.html#msg931264
They were recommending checking the wireless channel pre-emptively as another thing you could look at in case you were noticing more disconnections than were actually occurring.

And why would the changing of a wireless channel help with an ADSL disconnection issue? Please do explain.

Adam was suggesting that the drops you are seeing may be the wireless signal being lost, rather than the broadband disconnecting as we aren't seeing the disconnections from here. When these disconnections happen what is the status of the lights on the front of the router?

The router, a 2wire 2700HGV is showing in its logs a disconnection, the router stats log show a disconnection too by the nature of the SNR dropping to 0dB and then going back to 12dB which is my target SNR value. Though thinking about this a little more, it may be the router is getting to a very low SNR and forcing the retrain of the ADSL, doing this I guess may not show on the RADIUS/PPP logs you see at PN.
How does a drop in an 802.11 signal lead to a drop in SNR on ADSL?

Dropping the wireless won't drop the ADSL, sorry I'd completely missed the attachment to the ticket with the SNR graphs on.
