You can opt-out of our marketing emails if you don't want to receive them by changing your email preference option on our website.

That way we would could miss out on deals relating to our internet / phone services. What I object to is the REPEATED mailings related to this security package. Once was (more than) enough.
Perhaps there needs to be more than one marketing opt-out. One for the core services and another for other stuff that Plusnet and its associates are trying to flog.

That's something we did look into however we had and continue to have higher priority items on the roadmap.
I'll ask the marketing team to remove you both from future mailings about Plusnet protect.

Just to add a little retro context to this item.
Raised back in June 2007 as http://usergroup.plus.net/pugit/view.php?id=321 and even accepted into Development in Sept 2007 as a week's work?
The topic still comes back to life every so often though.

It's only "free" with Plusnet Extra. Otherwise it's "12 months online security for the price of 9". i,e. 25% off.

You could reduce it by at least one by changing the email address stored in your account details to mailbox@username.free-online.co.uk instead of mailbox@domain.me.uk - other than that there isn't much we can do without significantly changing our internal platform.
