Quote from: Matt

Hi Gorvul,
I've just tested the line and it's consistenly syncing below the fault threshold rate, so provided that's the same with the router in the master (or ideally test) socket with all other items removed from the line then we can get that raised for you. If you post back letting us know the downstream sync rate of the router when it's plugged in like that we'll advise further, it'd also be a great help if you could run a couple of speed tests on the BT tester at http://www.speedtester.bt.com
Hope that helps,

Hi Matt,
I noticed just now that the estimated line speed I quoted earlier (8Mb) was dated 2009. That would have been estimated from my previous address, where my line speed was hugely faster than it is here. I am at a different address now, (I took the same phone number with me), so anyway, what I'm saying is, is that the estimated line speed is out of date, and irrelevent I imagine.
For some reason, perhaps out of date BT phone lines in my area (not actually that far from my old address), my line speed is a lot worse here, even though I'm physically nearer to the exchange.
Anyway, I'm not sure it's exactly the information you're asking for, but I'll post this here:

	Link Information

Uptime:	13 days, 18:44:58
DSL Type:	G.992.3 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:	443 / 3,399
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]:	0.00 / 1.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:	12.5 / 0.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:	31.5 / 51.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:	17.0 / 15.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote):	TMMB / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):	167 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):	15 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):	0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote):	0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):	183 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down):	0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down):	0 / 8,243
HEC Errors (Up/Down):	0 / 6,477
that info was taken from my router - thomson one, PN supplied.
it's been plugged directly into the test socket with plate off since about last May or April 2010. No other equipment apart from a phone.
I'll do a btspeedtester test now, but like I posted somewhere else, I don't want my pings messed up from testing stuff at your end. My pings are very good, and I want them to stay that way.
I've just done a btspeedtest.... here are the results:

Test1 comprises of two tests
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download Speed
2226 Kbps

0 Kbps	4000 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 2226 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 1200-4000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :3399 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 443 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2500 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 12.83:25.27:61.94 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
320 Kbps

0 Kbps	443 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
>Upload speed achieved during the test was - 320 Kbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 443 Kbps

We were unable to identify any performance problem with your service at this time.
It is possible that any problem you are currently, or had previously experienced may have been caused by traffic congestion on the Internet or by the server you were accessing responding slowly.
If you continue to encounter a problem with a specific server, please contact the administrator of that server in the first instance.
does this help?

Adam,
Mine are in that thread but for information.
In October last year the Wholesale checker said

Quote

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 1Mbps. However due to the length of your line the 1Mbps service may require an engineer visit who will, where possible, supply the broadband service.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 3Mbps.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 3.5Mbps. Our test also indicates that your line could support an estimated ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line speed of 500Kbps and downstream line speed of 2.5Mbps.
Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 31st December 2010. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 17.8Mbps and upstream line speed of 7.7Mbps.

In December it said

Quote

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 8Mbps.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 15Mbps. Our test also indicates that your line could support an estimated ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line speed of 1Mbps and downstream line speed of 9Mbps.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 28Mbps and upstream line speed of 6.2Mbps.

and now its back to the October figures.
Just for completeness, my line has an attenuation of 28db at 300khz ( as reported by my 2700HGV ) and is in constant synch at 8128k with a SNR of 8-9db.
Edit : and from the PN portal

Quote

Estimated line speed:
    3.5Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2009-03-31 15:29:08
Current line speed:
    8 Mb

Mine has never been correct, and it seems it's getting lower. Last time I checked I had an estimated speed of 1.5Mb, now it's down to 0.5Mb.
Apart from a couple of faults I've had, I've always connected at 2Mb. With the addition of an ADSLNation faceplate, I can get up to 2.5Mb, but it isn't stable enough to stay up there for more than a couple of days,
Estimated line speed:
    0.5Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2011-01-30 13:46:21
Current line speed:
    2 Mb

I wouldn't mind having that complaint...
