Are you talking about Fibre (FTTC) or Full Fibre (FTTP)?

If it's the former then house extensions will not work (as far as I'm aware) but with FTTP they can usable with a bit of work. DECT phones don't need extensions.

Note you lose PN email and any other Add Ons you have if you leave PN.

I have an unlimited b/b and anytime landline calls. I'm happy to upgrade to the new fibre but need to retain my home phone. Would using the EE voip system with a monthly call package be compatible as everything comes under BT? Can you use digital phones in other rooms when connected to the system? PN is not clear on these points. Be a shame to have to change to Zen or Vodafone.

@geoffcd EE VOIP will only work with an EE broadband service, similarly BT digital voice requires a BT broadband service, neither of these VOIP services will work with Plusnet. I don't know what Plusnet have told you but you can transfer to EE without any early termination charges, but be aware you have to arrange it via Plusnet.

@geoffcd the EE voip (Digital voice) can only be provided with an EE broadband product.

You CAN use a third party voip product e,g A & A https://www.aa.net.uk/voice-and-mobile/voip-information/ with a Plusnet broadband but you need either an adapter (ATA) to use existing phones or a voip phone.

To use a third party voip, you need to first transfer to the Fibre ( or Full Fibre ) product which disassociates your Plusnet account from the phone number and ceases the phone service. You then have 30 days to port your number to a voip service.

Shout up if you need more information...
