topic Using the Plusnet Hub 2 router for VOIP ? in Home Phone

It appears that Plusnet will not be offering a VOIP solution. The Hub 2 router has some hardware support for VOIP but would this work with a third party VOIP provider? If (as I suspect) I'd need a separate hardware adapter, any recommendations? There are plenty of cheap ones on Amazon and eBay, but I'm not sure how good they are.

It might have an FXS port but it's not supported in the firmware, so No!

I'd need a separate hardware adapter, any recommendations?

Many people on here use the Grandstream HT series , not cheap but they seem to work well

There are plenty of cheap ones on Amazon and eBay, but I'm not sure how good they are.

Let use know what you're considering and we'll try to help. Beware that cheap ATAs are sometimes 'locked' to a voip supplier/
