Charged for Evening Calls (of less than 60 mins)

There are call charges on my bill this month for 2 UK landline calls, both made after 6pm and both for less than an hour. I have 'free weekend and evening calls' package, so I don't understand why this would be?

That would be because Evening starts at 7 pm not 6 pm I'm afraid https://www.plus.net/help/legal/residential-phone-tariffs/#evening-weekend-uk

Time period	When it applies
Daytime	Monday to Friday - 7am - 7pm
Evening	Monday to Friday - 7pm - 7am
Weekends	All day Saturday & Sunday

Historically the "evening" cheap rate period used to be 6pm to 8am didn't it?

I might be thinking back to the early 1980s when BT still had a monopoly?

@Anonymous you're correct, in the dim and distant past it was 6pm to 8am. AFAIK Its been 7 till 7 for some time though...

Its been 7pm with BT since 2010, I believe others followed soon after.
