I suspect you have set a timer somewhere and forgotten about it. Notwithstanding this, 0800 numbers are charged to the called party, not you.

I'm aware that with Anytime, calls to 01/02/03 numbers are only inclusive for the first 60 minutes and are chargeable after that.

Does the same apply to calls to 0800 numbers, or are they free how ever long they last? If they are charged after 60 minutes, at what rate?

Thanks,

Thanks. The reason I asked was that when I was on hold with a very long 0800 call yesterday, my phone gave a warning bleep after 55 minutes like it does with 01/02/03 numbers. I think the bleep comes from PlusNet and not from the handset itself - because it's the same with all my handsets. Any idea why a warning would occur on a call which isn't going to to incur a charge after 60 minutes?

Yes, you're right! On checking, I've found that my trueCall call blocker unit is set to bleep after 55 minutes into any outgoing call - and it can't distinguish between 0800 calls and potentially chargeable calls. I'd forgotten where the bleep comes from!

So thanks, everyone - that clears everything up nicely,
