SMS Text on Plusnet Landline

Does the Plusnet landline service currently support SMS Text send and receive with a text enabled phone? This service may also be known as BT text. If so, much does it cost to send a text?

Plusnet tells me that the service is not supported but some posts on this forum suggest that it is.

I cant find anything in the price guide regarding costs to send but I seem to recall 12p/text was mentioned some time ago.

With regards to the price, the Fixed Fee Charge Call dropdown on this page https://www.plus.net/help/legal/service-number-call-rates shows a fee of 12p for a text message which agrees with your recollection and indicates that the service is available. It would still be useful to hear from someone who has used the service recently to be certain.

I have recently tried, and failed to get it to work when I noticed my BT cordless handset had an SMS function.

I played with it for a little while, but gave up when I realised I had no practical use for it anyway 😂.
