Mystery calls from 0800 numbers

0800 444231
During the last week, I have received about half a dozen calls from this telephone number, and other 0800 numbers.
Two from this one today.
The phone rings four times, then stops.
A friend told me today, that she has been getting them, too.
I was wondering if anyone else has - and if anybody knows what they are .

No way am I going to ring the numbers.

Few other links all seem to point to Domestic & General trying to upsell warranties. Have you bought a fridge, hoover, dishwasher etc recently?

Hello there,

I haven't personally experienced any nuisance calls from this number, however I have just given it a quick ring from my mobile phone.

All I heard was an automated message advising the original call was from domestic & general service limited. I imagine the number is outbound only as it doesn't route anywhere when dialling it.

This cold weather is seizing up my brain.

I only thought today, to put 141 before the number and to ring it.

Yes, I have had something on warranty in the past.

There was another call today.

Needless to say, I will make sure I never deal with that company again.
