You can turn it off by logging on to your account, choosing your phone service and disabling it in there

Callerid is a different option so it should be fine.

I had the same question. I'd anticipated that there would be a function enabling 1571 subscribers to toggle the service on or off, ad lib, from time to time. The current Remove Call Feature sounds a bit more heavyweight, but maybe isn't. Will there be any problems in repeated use of Remove or Add Feature for the 1571 service?

There shouldn't be. Though if there is, we can just place an order at wholesale level to turn it off/on rather than automation.

Thanks. I've just removed free voicemail via Members Centre. It does seem to be a more heavyweight procedure than a user toggle switch -- the system response was that a voicemail removal update would take three working days.

@lemming toggling it as you suggest might cause PNs systems to throw a wabbler they are not that robust

In fact it was, and was shown as, disabled when I checked an hour ago. I should really have checked yesterday, to see if it took effect more or less immediately.

Adding and removing it at your leisure shouldn't be an issue, it can take up to three working days to add/ remove though, so it can't just be toggled on/off within a few seconds
