Hi team / community,

I’m moving to a new flat on 11th August and need a new internet connection activated on that date.

My existing broadband line must not change or be disconnected at all, as someone else will still be living there and using it.

How do I order a new broadband account for the new address on August 11th without affecting my current account or line?

The online setup mentions my current address and changing of internet providers which i do not want to change at all.

@StevenL You place an order for the service at the new address, I would suggest you do this via phone. Is the current account in your name?

You can request a start date, but whether that can be achieved depends on the service you want, and a suitable connection being available.

re: your second post - that is why I suggested you did it manually, stressing that this is a new, separate, connection.

Are you intending to pay for the existing internet connection after you move?

I believe it is not possible to have two supply addresses for the same account name; so you would need to create a new account for the new address or get the remaining occupier to create their own account for your old address.

Then transfer your account to your new address with a start date of 11th August

Provided the remaining occupier takes up as a plusnet customer there should be no or short break in service as the line is already a plusnet asset.

@Dan_the_Van I agree with you, it could get a little messy, but , and forgive me if I am wrong, if the OP creates another account for the new address, it should be possible. I don't think PN care who pays the bills, so long as someone does.

Yes, I used to pay for my mothers service, she lived at a different address.

The important information is you can not have two addresses on the same account, each address has to have an account.

I know, which is why I suggested above that the OP calls PN and manually sets up the account at the new address. I also agree that it would simplify things if they had the account at the current address transferred to another adult at that address.

Without mentioning your current address or contract simply sign up as a new customer at the new address. To avoid confusion I would suggest using a different email address to that used for your current account.
