Compensation and Pricing for delayed FTTP installation

Hi support/admin

My new FTTP order is now up-and-running after 2 month delay (Original date was 15-Apr, but only completed on 16-Jun). I have 2 questions and wondering if someone from Plusnet could help.

1. Plusnet is now going to charge me £47.99 a month for 24 months contract starting June instead of £37.99 when I first signup.

Also,

2. I was given the impression by the agent I spoke on the phone that I would get the compensation for the delay on the daily basis up to the actual go-live date.

@DLIN I'm not PN staff, but (1) why are they going to charge you £10/month extra? and (2) assuming 15/04/25 was a committed installation date, then yes, you will be entitled to compensation from that date to 16/06.

OUT of interest, what caused the delay?

I have just received the email from Plusnet, the monthly charge of £47.99 does not include £10 discount, which they have now reinstated.

the delayed, I was told is due to external civil work and Openreach lack of resources to meet the demand for my local area.

@DLIN You will need to ring PN to sort the discount issue.

As to the compensation, when did you receive your committed date? I would doubt that OR would commit to a date they knew was not achievable.

I was never given a committed date by Openreach, the activation date was the date I picked when I first signed up end of March

Ah OK. You would have, though been given a committed date (Via PN) when OpenReach advised them the work was completed/resources available. your preferred date is just that and not a set in stone commitment.
