Booking a ONT Shift

Hi, I recently upgraded to fibre but the engineer installed the ONT in my ground floor room (front of house), while my previous point of input was a room upstairs (also front of house).

I was told by the OR engineer I'd have to contact Plusnet to arrange for a visit to shift the ONT. I'm aware there's going to be a cost involved.

How do I start this process?

I can't comment on booking an ONT shift, but you could also consider having a network cable run between the ONT and where you want your router.

Electricians have often "upskilled" to run and terminate network cables.

It may be easier and cheaper to run some network cable to your preferred location.

Consider getting someone in to run an external ethernet cable to your desired location. Probably as cheap as getting the ONT moved and is future proof.

Thanks all for the advice. "Getting someone in" is my only option, but installing an ethernet cable externally instead of moving the box make a lot of sense. I'll look around for a local engineer/electrician.
