Fibre 40/10 Trial Upgrade

I was on the Fibre Trial 40/10 which ended a few years back and have been on that since.

I was called by PN Tuesday 17th to inform me that the trial had ended and the 40/10 package was no longer available, so I agreed to upgrade to the FF74 package, within 30 minutes of the call I received an email to confirm my product change was now complete and ready to use and the portal now shows my package as FF74.

As of yet there's no change to my speeds, wired and non wired speed tests all give more or less the same results as they've always done on my 40/10 package. I've rebooted the router (Hub 2) a few times also but no change, anyone able to shed any light on this or look in to it for me?

I've checked this and the order to upgrade your speed hasn't gone through to our suppliers automatically.

I'm just placing the order now and will confirm the estimated completion date shortly.

I don't understand what is going on here. I know nothing about a "Fibre Trial 40/10", or about it ending. I am on a 40/10 Fibre BB. AFAIK this is simply a normal Plusnet BB package (renewed March 2024) - albeit not normally available these days.

I understand my potential maximum existing Fibre BB speed could be ~70Mbps but have no urgent need to change my existing BB. Does the above post have any significance for me, or is it irrelevant?

Ah! the when is Fibre not Fibre confusion😁

@pvmb @Dagenham71 is referring to the FTTP (real fibre!) trial , you are on FTTC

I must admit , I thought that all FTTP trialists had long since been moved to the FF products ?

The FTTP trial was something run several years ago. Early 'full products' were available at the same speeds as FTTC.

Are you sure you are on FTTP? Fibre BB 40/10 sounds like FTTC, especially referencing a max speed of 70mbps (or a little faster) - that is an entirely different product.

OK. I am on 40/10 FTTC not FTTP. The original post did not make this clear - especially as their new FF74 sounds no faster than I could potentially get on FTTC.

The order's completed and I've done a test, which is now showing the correct speed:

Measured DS Speed (Mbit/s)	78
Measured US Speed (Mbit/s)	19

Please let us know if you have any further issues.

I did a quick speed test this morning before leaving the house and the upload speed was now showing around 20Mbs but the download speed was still coming in at around 37Mbs.

I'll do another test tonight when I get home and see if there's any change on that.

@Dagenham71 do a disconnect/connect at the router before trying a speedtest again.
